Privacy Policy

Overview

UnlimitedTranscribe is designed to process audio files for transcription, translation, formatting, and related workflow features. The app stores most app data locally on your device. When you choose cloud-based transcription or translation, the app sends the required content to the selected service provider so the requested feature can work.

Information the App May Process

Depending on how you use the app, UnlimitedTranscribe may process:

• Audio files you import.
• Generated transcripts, translations, timestamps, and formatted output.
• Job metadata such as file name, duration, processing status, progress, model selection, language selection, and error state.
• App settings, including transcription model, translation options, local model choices, and workflow preferences.
• Your OpenAI API key if you choose to use your own key.
• Subscription and purchase state provided by Apple StoreKit.
• Usage and billing metadata needed to manage subscriptions, credits, or app-managed usage where those features are available.
• Diagnostic information such as non-sensitive error messages, processing step identifiers, retry counts, and technical logs.

Audio, Transcripts, and Translation Content

Audio files and generated text may contain personal or sensitive information. You control what files you import into the app.

If you use local transcription or local Apple system translation features, processing is designed to occur on your device or through Apple-provided system functionality, depending on the feature and operating system behavior.

If you use OpenAI-powered transcription, translation, validation, or formatting features, the app sends the relevant audio, transcript text, prompt context, and configuration details to OpenAI so the request can be completed.

OpenAI API Key

If you provide your own OpenAI API key, the app stores it in Apple Keychain on your device using device-protected Keychain storage. The app uses the key only to make OpenAI API requests that you initiate through app features.

Do not send your API key to support. You can remove your saved API key from the app settings where available.

Third-Party Services

UnlimitedTranscribe may interact with the following third-party or platform services:

• OpenAI: Used when you choose OpenAI-powered transcription, translation, model lookup, validation, or related processing. OpenAI receives the content necessary to process your request. OpenAI's handling of that data is governed by OpenAI's own terms and privacy policies.
• Apple: Used for App Store distribution, StoreKit purchases, subscription management, purchase restoration, and Apple platform features. Apple may process purchase and device-related information according to Apple's privacy policies.
• Apple Translation and local system services: Some app versions may use Apple system translation or local platform capabilities where available.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. UnlimitedTranscribe receives purchase and entitlement information from Apple so the app can determine whether subscription access or purchased features are available.

The app does not receive your full payment card number from Apple.

Local Storage and Security

UnlimitedTranscribe stores app data such as jobs, transcripts, settings, temporary artifacts, logs, billing metadata, and local model state on your device. The app uses Apple platform security features, including Keychain for API keys and app-managed encryption for sensitive local artifacts where supported by the app.

Temporary processing files may be created during transcription. The app is designed to clean up temporary files after successful processing or when you delete related data.

Diagnostics and Logs

The app may create diagnostic logs to help identify processing failures and support troubleshooting. Logs are intended to include technical information such as timestamps, processing steps, retry attempts, and error messages.

Logs are not intended to include API keys, full transcript content, private audio, or other sensitive user content. If you contact support, avoid sending sensitive files or text unless required for troubleshooting and only share the minimum necessary information.

Data Retention

Data stored locally remains on your device until you delete it, remove the app, clear app data, or the app deletes temporary files as part of normal cleanup. OpenAI, Apple, and other service providers may retain data according to their own policies when their services are used.

Data Deletion

You can delete jobs, transcripts, generated outputs, temporary files, and your saved OpenAI API key using the app controls where available. You can also remove the app from your device to delete app-local data managed by the operating system.

Children's Privacy

UnlimitedTranscribe is not intended for children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International Use

If you use cloud-based services such as OpenAI or Apple services, information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence, subject to those providers' policies and legal requirements.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
